Amazon’s Alexa is now capable of tracking an Attorneys Billable hours. Thomson Reuters Elite introduced the Workspace Assistant using Amazon’s Echo Family of devices. The Workplace assistant keeps track of client time and billing interfacing with Thomason Reuters Elite Workspace desktop using voice activated commands. The Workspace Assistant can be downloaded from The Amazon Alexa Store, but can only be used by those users who subscribe to Workspace.
Of concern may be that Alexa is always listening, but Thomason Reuters claims that the security is always within the firm’s security walls. Not sure how that differs from Alexa just listening for wakeup command, as there have already been prosecutors subpoenaing Echo conversations from Amazon.
